“This is Where it all began”

First off I would like to thank the committee and the members of the hall of fame it is an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence with you guys.

I would like everyone to reach down and touch the grass in this field. This is where it all began for me. This is where as a boy my sports career began from playing kick ball and flashlight tag to hitting bombs over the chain link monster behind us. This is where it all began. This is where I lost my virginity in high school her name was Stacey(remember you were there Frank) I wish she could be here with me today to celebrate this great moment, Cuz unlike that day this is going to take awhile. This is where it all began. This is where I began to have alcohol parties so girls would talk to me..and my mom would cook everyone French fries so they wouldn’t go home drunk. This is where it all began.

I would like to thank Dad for letting me drink his Miller High life at 7 years old and for my mom making me grill cheeses at 4Am when I came home drunk. All their hard work and preparation got me where I am today.

Beer die for me was born at Merrimack college where you played sitting down in a dorm room which was lame like running the bases in wiffle ball. But with the right care and attention Beer die has evolved into the spectacle that you now see before you.

My love for this game has grown with age and I see no peak in sight. Having my best finish of 4th place last year has insured me that I am just starting to hit my prime and maybe my best years are yet to come.

I know my being inducted isn’t completely based on my talent and skill in the game of beer die but based on my love and affection for it and for me creating a forum that the game can be celebrated once a year on the south shore and so many friends can be brought together and this is where it all began.

We all know I won’t live forever or even past 30 so it is up to each and every one of you to keep this going.  I look to the stars of tomorrow- Bowser, Crowley, Hernon. Someday you will be up here well maybe not you Adam because we couldn’t fit your ears on a trophy. But you will all be responsible for keeping this going. This is the legacy I leave you. This is where it all began

The great Keanu Reeves once said, “ Pain Heals, Chicks Dig Scars, And Glory lasts forever” and with this award I now know the glory of beer die will live on in me forever.

In closing I would like to say this is the second greatest moment I have ever been apart of in my back yard besides stacy’s virginity!

And to give you one last bit of inspiration before I go I would like to quote the Great Anthony Michael hall From the Breakfast Club, “Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain..an athlete..a basket case...a princess.. a criminal..and a Beer die player.
Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the The Beer Die Club.”
